Per-acre cost based on the 2.5 lb per acre rate — one 50 lb bag covers 20 acres.
A gallon of 10-34-0 is mostly water, and you pay to haul it.
WillRock Ag Starter Concentrate is a dry 12-58-0 starter that dissolves in your own water on the farm. Half a pound replaces a gallon of 10-34-0. At 2.5 lbs per acre it runs about $17.50 an acre, and a single 50 lb bag covers 20 acres — which means one pallet does the work of a tender load of liquid.
It is not just concentrated phosphate. Two enzymes and a phenolic acid package are built in to make the phosphate more available and to get the plant through the cold, wet weeks after planting.
What’s working for you
Phosphatase releases phosphate from organic phosphate already sitting in your soil. Most of a field’s phosphorus is tied up and unavailable; this enzyme puts more of it back in play, on top of the 58% available phosphate in the bag.
Mannanase breaks down the starches surrounding the outermost layer of the root tip. That increases the flow of water and nutrients into the root zone and sugars within the plant, which in turn drives root growth and microbial activity around the root.
Phenolic compounds at 0.50% improve early plant vigor and abiotic stress tolerance. They enhance the plant’s antioxidant defenses and influence early-season growth and development — the difference between a stand that sits and a stand that moves.
Chelated zinc at 0.10% is EDTA-chelated and stays available, keeping the phosphorus-to-zinc ratio in balance. High phosphate rates can induce zinc deficiency; this is built in so that does not happen.
Why growers choose it
- Replaces 10-34-0 at 0.5 lb per gallon — same starter, none of the freight on water
- 12-58-0 analysis — 58% available phosphate, the highest grade in the Upshift line
- Two enzymes, not just fertilizer — phosphatase frees tied-up soil phosphate, mannanase opens the root tip
- Stress package included — 0.50% phenolic compounds for early vigor and abiotic stress tolerance
- Chelated zinc built in — keeps the P-to-Zn ratio right at high phosphate rates
- Flexible use — starter at plant, side-dress, or as a pH buffer in the spray tank
- Storage and handling — 50 lb bags stack on a pallet — no tank, no tender, no winter freeze risk
Coverage
Sold in 50 lb bags, 40 bags per pallet, or 2,000 lb super sacks. At the 2.5 lb per acre minimum rate, one bag covers 20 acres at about $17.50 per acre.
How to apply
At plant or side-dress: use a minimum of 2.5 lbs per acre, dissolved in adequate warm water.
Mixing a concentrate: mix 0.5 lb per gallon of water. Do not exceed 2 lbs per gallon.
Replacing 10-34-0: for every 1 gallon of 10-34-0, substitute 0.5 lbs of Starter Concentrate dissolved into 1 gallon of water.
As a pH buffer: mix 0.25–0.5 dry oz per gallon. Results vary with your water source pH.
Do not use with ammonium thiosulfate, potassium thiosulfate, or other high pH or high free-ammonia products, and do not mix with non-chelated micronutrients. Jar test any new combination before it goes in the tank.
