Gallons of finished spray based on the 1 quart per 100 gallon rate from a 2 × 2.5 gallon case. At 2 quarts per 100 gallons, one case treats 1,000 gallons of spray solution.
You bought the residual. This keeps it from burning off before the rain comes.
OptiFit Pre-Emerge encapsulates your pre-emerge herbicide, insecticide or fungicide in a polyvinyl polymer shell that protects it from UV decomposition. In most applications that encapsulation makes the chemical last up to a week longer — which is often exactly the gap between when you sprayed and when you finally got an activating rain.
That is the risk this product is built against. A pre-emerge sitting on dry ground in full sun is losing effectiveness every day it waits. Extending the window it can sit and still work is worth more than the adjuvant costs.
What’s working for you
Polyvinyl polymer encapsulation wraps the active ingredient and shields it from ultraviolet breakdown. The chemistry stays intact on the soil surface until moisture moves it in.
Proprietary drift control is built in, protecting bordering crops and improving canopy penetration at the same time. Larger, more consistent droplets go where you aimed them.
The formulation is a non-reactive polyacrylamide blend, so it is safe for in-crop use and does not chemically alter what it is protecting.
Why growers choose it
- Protects a costly chemical investment — pre-emerge chemistry is expensive; losing it to sunlight is pure waste
- UV protection through encapsulation — the active is shielded until moisture activates it
- Up to a week longer — extends the time your pre-emerge can wait for an incorporating rain
- Built-in drift control — protects bordering growing crops without a second product
- Better canopy penetration — improved deposition on later applications as well
- Safe for in-crop use — non-reactive polymer, no phytotoxicity concerns
- Works beyond herbicides — labeled for insecticides and fungicides too
- Aerial ready — the higher rate is recommended for low-gallon aerial applications
Coverage
Sold in 2 × 2.5 gallon jugs (5 gallons per case) or a 250-gallon tote — $37.60 per gallon at case pricing.
At 1 quart per 100 gallons, one case treats 2,000 gallons of finished spray solution. At 2 quarts per 100 gallons, one case treats 1,000 gallons.
How to apply
Use rate: 1 to 2 quarts per 100 gallons. With low gallon aerial applications, the higher rate is recommended.
Always use agitation when adding OptiFit Pre-Emerge to the spray tank. Add it first to the agitating tank — except when using dry flowables, in which case add it after they are mixed into the water solution.
For use with herbicides (including desiccants), insecticides and fungicides. Refer to the herbicide or pesticide label being used regarding specific adjuvant use recommendations.
OptiFit Pre-Emerge will reduce but not totally eliminate drift. Always follow chemical label directions and precautions. It is not intended as a substitute for good agronomic practices, and sound application techniques must be used when spraying.
Storage: store in a closed, dry area in the original container and keep it sealed. Avoid freezing.
